My Guru Story

Note: If you are not able to see the image below, you need to click on 'Display images' in your mail

While there are many many miracles that have been happening around me ever since I met GuruDev, this one shall remain etched in my memory forever.GuruDev often tells us to surrender all our desires to the Divine, and the more contented we feel, more will be given to us. Although HE keeps reminding me of this mantra every now and then, this time, HE made sure that I did not forget.
I had just completed the Blessing course and left my job during the peak of recession 2009 for no good reason. I had never failed any interview in my life and thus was sure that I would get a job in no time. But 1 month stretched to 3 months, yet there was no sign of a job! I failed at least 10 interviews one after the other. My heart sank, I just was not able to bear it!
At home, there was a ban on doing any kind of Art of Living seva, but seeing my plight my family allowed me to go for seva. As it turned out, this proved to be one of the best days of my life, where I had no tension of a job and was doing seva full time. Almost 6 months passed and I started enjoying Seva so much so that on the first day of a Navchetna Shivir, I felt somewhere deep down in my heart, that this was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I felt that there was no job in this world which could give me the kind of satisfaction that Seva was giving me.
I had had an interview with a company about 15 days before the Navchetna Shivir was to begin. I had not heard back from them and so almost forgot about it. I was focused and busy preparing for the shivir. When I went back home from the shivir that evening, I got a call from the Senior Vice President of the company, confirming my appointment for the position without any further interviews ( the normal procedure requires atleast 3 interviews!!!), and that too in Bangalore!!
While visiting the Ashram for the 1st time I had also once desired that I should work in Bangalore, in close proximity to Guruji and the Ashram. I became aware that the moment my small mind had stopped hankering for the job, it fell into my lap without any effort.
Also I realised that, I am not the doer.
I had prayed to Guruji that my family should allow me to go for Seva.
My family did not stop me from going to Bangalore, in fact they pushed me to go ahead (which they otherwise would never have allowed) probably because I was jobless for so long.
They supported me so much, that I was totally overwhelmed with all the Love.
HE in his own subtle ways, makes one feel the Grace at every step of our lives. Every small desire is taken care of.
I spent the most blissful year in Bangalore and am ever grateful to HIM for those wonderful days in the Holy City! :)

Health Regained

Jai gurudev
This happened in may 2010. I had not done the aol course by that time and had been diagnosed with TB(tuberculosis) serious stage
I was hospitalised and after almost a week I had my CA PCC exams. I was very distressed but gave my exams anyways.
After that I attended a YES!+ workshop in Noida. Reason and Logic are defied when I realise that all my breathing problems are now gone, gone to the extent that it appears as if they never existed. I just have gratitude and unconditional love for my guru :)
Its amazing..

Jai guru dev :)

Attitude of Gratitude

Note: If you are not able to see the image below, you need to click on 'Display images' in your mail

03/03/2012 was a day full of ups and downs, which I had to take care of by myself. But by Guruji's grace, every step of the way went off smoothly, with one problem after another being taken care of by HIM. To add to one more problem, at night my husband came back from Pune at 9. On his way home, he noticed that his brief case was not in the car. The Driver ( Jagdish) thought that my Husband was carrying his brief case to the car, and my Husband thought that Jagdish had carried back the brief case to the car.

My Husband had left his brief case at the baggage counter by mistake. He called to inform me about this state of affairs, and to call Air India. For a while, thought this was the last straw, and we would not be able to find the brief case with all things in tact. I requested an Art of Living Blesser for a blessing/healing to solve this problem, which she kindly obliged us with and said "all will be okay... don't worry". I then managed to get through to the Air India Call Centre and told them about the missing brief case. The Call Centre then informed me if my Husband had the Boarding Pass, he could go back to the Security at Terminal 3, and inform them about the same.

My Husband went back to Terminal 3, and showed them his Boarding Pass, and sure enough within a few minutes his Brief Case was returned in tact. While all this was happening, I could only do one thing : chant JOY GURU DEB, JOY GURU DEB, JOY GURU DEB, in my mind. It took the load off my mind. I would like to add that through out the day I was just in the "attitude of gratitude" reminising all the good things that I have had in my life.
Thank you so much Guruji...

Quit Smoking

Note: If you are not able to see the image below, you need to click on 'Display images' in your mail

I was a chain smoker for 20 years, started smoking from my 2nd year of engineering when I was 18yrs old. I started smoking for fun when I was in hostel; later on I became a chain smoker. The habit became a major source of stress for me and my family. I tried a lot to quit but I would stop for 3 to 4 weeks then again re-start. Two years passed like this, with a series of failed attempts. Then I did the Part-I course and from the last day of the course I stopped eating meat, but my smoking continued for a few months and then I was blessed with a chance to have Guruji's darshan when He himself came to my hometown. This was the first time I met the master, I prayed and surrendered the habit to Guruji. After that one darshan of His Holiness I could effortlessly quit smoking.

During the visit I was lucky to meet Him & He blessed me with a shawl. Words are few to express the gratitude I feel for the Master

GURUJI CAN MAKE ANYTHING HAPPEN

Note: If you are not able to see the image below, you need to click on 'Display images' in your mail

I was very keen on visiting the Bengaluru Ashram during Mahashivaratri 2012, as it was a Monday & Guruji Himself was to be present in the Ashram after almost a decade, but everyone I asked said that that all rooms had been booked. One of the AOL teachers I called to inquire told me that she was going for AMC (Advanced Meditation Course) with Guruji and that it was a wonderful opportunity to do AMC. For me, going to the Ashram for 1 whole week was next to impossible, but I remembered Guruji’s words "you put one step forward first & I’ll take care of the rest."

In the month of December I registered for the AMC; marked it on the calendar 14th to 21st February AMC with Guruji and was very happy about it. In January 2012 when I joined school after the X’mas vacation, my School Principal called me and said that I will have to accompany the students on an Excursion to Malaysia from 12th to the 19th of February. This upset me, but since it was my duty I was quiet.

As Guruji says I decided to accept the situation and go to Malaysia. I started preparing for the trip, the passport was the first things on the list. I realised my passport would expire in May 2012 and the Malaysian visa requires that the passport should be valid for 8 months after your return. There was no possibility of me accompanying the students and I was glad but did not express it. However, my Principal suggested that I should get through Tatkal scheme (emergency passport). I tried it through a very well reputed agent & even that was rejected, so my trip to Malaysia was called off and I very delightfully travelled to Bangaluru Ashram for AMC and Mahashivaratri.

I thank Guruji for taking care of me and making my AMC & Mahashivtratri celebration a dream come true. Jai Gurudev!

You are taken care of!

Note: If you are not able to see the image below, you need to click on 'Display images' in your mail

I have many Guru Stories. But, this one is interesting!

Year 2011, There were many events happening - Upanishads in LA, World Cultural Festival in Berlin, Guruji was visiting Sri Sri Ashram in Uvalde, TX after a long time then there was Guru Purnima in Canada. I wanted to be at all these events but it was just not possible. I decided I would have to pick so it was Uvalde TX, and Guru Purnima but when I returned from Uvalde meeting Guruji, I had a strong urge to go to the World Cultural Festival ... Just about 3 wks before the World Cultural Festival I registered, purchased my flight tickets and was set to visit Berlin for just 48 hrs! My family was not happy about my decision. It was July 4th, weekend and the whole family was meeting for a "reunion" and I would be the only one missing! My extended family and my family tried to guilt me out of attending WCF. But, I insisted I HAD to go to Berlin...my husband, children and relatives were disappointed.

In my excitement to "be there", I forgot to take the printed instructions on which bus/train routes to take, to get to Estrel Berlin hotel from TEGEL airport. On my way to IAH I was hoping someone that I know from AOL was on my flight, when I was in line to board the plane I saw a familiar face. (The person I had wished would be on my flight!!!) I felt good but it turned out he was registered at a different hotel... but, he said he would ensure I was on the right bus/train after we got off the plane.

Amazingly for the first time IAH to Europe and then Tegel seemed like a short flight! We got off the plane and my friend was waiting for me to pick my bags (don't know why they insisted I check in my carry bag at the entrance of the plane). When I turned around after picking by bag I see a lady standing with a placard "Welcome to Art of Living"... I thought, wow! Now I do not have to bother my friend so I walked towards her and asked what bus/train route to take to get to Estrel Berlin. The lady said "Actually, I am here to pick up a dignitary, Guruji sent us to pick up his guest, you will have to go outside and see if there are volunteers to help you". I thanked her and walked few steps suddenly, she rushes towards me and says "You know by mistake two cars arrived to pick one person you can ride the other car to the nearest train station, this driver will drop you off and you should be fine after that"!!! I was in a daze! I told my friend what just happened...I had a brain freeze...just then another person walked and asked her the same question she told him to join me...he told me he too was going to Estrel Berlin :-) I felt relieved now I had company I was not alone to figure out the train route! My friend decided to leave for his journey on his own to the other hotel he was at; knowing/ensuring I was being taken care of from here on.

My "company" happened to be an Art of Living Teacher stationed in Kuwait...he and I became friends instantly! The driver dropped us off at some train station and in limited English/gestures told us to go down the stairs, buy our tickets and get off at "Sonnenallee". We thanked the driver and walked down the stairs. There was not a single soul on the platform on either side...both of us tried to figure out how to get the ticket out of the vending machine, everything was in German! Just then it struck me, previous year when my children and I visited Berlin my children had mentioned something about tapping the British flag in the display window and the display would be in English! Viola! It worked! (Information that seems insignificant at times comes to great use you don't know when!) ...we both purchased our tickets for the weekend and were wondering which platform to wait at which direction do we go which was the inbound and which was the outbound? Just then a lady came down the stairs we asked her she advised us to punch our tickets for validations and then told us which platform to wait at! All the way to Sonnenallee my new friend and I were chatting and exchanging knowledge! It was a pretty long ride but time just flew by!

All through the WCF Ramkishen took care of me ensuring I was not "lost" in the crowd...we had to get on and off so many trains in those two days. He was like a younger brother Guruji sent to take care of me to ensure I was safe from the moment I landed in Tegel!!! I had company all the way from IAH to Berlin to Tegel and then all through the WCF I was sitting with the "Kuwait group" though I was supposed to be with the USA/Houston crowd! I was taken care of until I reached home safely! :-)

There have been unlimited instances when I have felt Guruji's grace and presence in my life but this happens to be "one of the most remarkable" and pretty recent. Being picked up at the airport and taken care of all the way until I reached home!

Last week we had been on a short trip and my husband insisted he would drop me off in the hotel room and then go on his errand. I told him, I am educated woman, I will be fine and that I have been travelling alone to so many hotels for AOL events in the past years. My husband told me "When you go for AOL activities Guruji takes care of you" here I am responsible for you! LOL! I was surprised he said that because my husband and two adult children are not AOL followers and it is amazing lately my husband's trust and faith in Guruji comes up in his conversations! :-) I know the future is bright! All we have to do is TRUST Guruji. Everything falls in place at the right time according to HIS will!

Miracle

Note: If you are not able to see the image below, you need to click on 'Display images' in your mail

Jai Guru Dev,

I am an art of living follower from last few years and have always felt the divine presence of Guruji in whatever I do. This story is of last year January, when Guruji was in Chennai for 3 days.

He was coming to Thiruvanmiyur for 10-15 minutes in the spiritual fest that was happening at that point of time. I desperately wanted to see Guruji as I was unable to meet him last time, when he was in Chennai and had missed just by few minutes. This time I did not want to miss the opportunity. Still, due to inherent laziness I reached Thiruvanmiyur just on time, but was unaware of the exact venue.
Since his scheduled stay there was only for 10-15 minutes, it was not advertised much and venue directions were not given. I would have had to find the exact venue within very short time, I asked many local people but none could tell the venue. Finally, I was in despair and was cursing myself thinking that I had lost another opportunity, and in parallel, also started asking Guruji in my mind if he was unhappy with me due to some reason and if he does not want me to meet him. At that very moment, I saw two Art of living volunteers running towards me and asking whether they could find a flower shop around to buy garlands for Guruji. I was completely taken aback by the development of event. We searched for flower shop and took garland for Guruji. This sudden development of event completely looked as miracle to me. It completely appeared that Guruji heard me and sent these two volunteers to show me the venue.

When I reached the venue along with volunteers and was standing in line, Guruji was passing by in front of me and I just said "Jai Guru Dev” with my folded hands, and he looked back and looked into my eyes and smiled. I will never forget this. Though, I was not very regular in daily practices of kriya till last year, after this incident from last one year I have continuously done kriya every day without fail and am always happy, healthy and positive.

Love you Guruji. Please always be with us.

Jai Guru Dev!!!

True Blessing

Note: If you are not able to see the image below, you need to click on 'Display images' in your mail

Last weekend I was on the Blessings Course as a participant but was keen to assist wherever I could, on the course. From the first day onwards i took the responsibility of lighting the candles (around Gurujis picture which was on stage next to Swamiji’s seat) as and when required, and every night they would be put off.

This sublime course was mind blowing with each of the participants enjoying the processes and satsang each evening. That Saturday evening Swamiji took the satsang to another level with his inspiring singing and Vedic chants, so much so that being in the Divine space, I forgot to switch the candles off.

The next morning I went on stage to light the candles on, before the first session started and noted that the main candle in the middle of the table had completely burnt out and that there was a burn mark on the table that stopped short of Guruji’s picture. I was amazed at this; at how a small trail of fire started and stopped short of burning a picture of the Master. I showed this to a few people and later after the last session on the course we told all the participants of this little miracle.

We are truly blessed to have such a Divine Maser that even the element of Fire recognizes His Divinity and stopped short leaving the picture untouched. Feeling blessed and full of Gratitude for the Guru’s presence

You are my sunshine

Note: If you are not able to see the image below, you need to click on 'Display images' in your mail

I have been an art of living follower from my school days, class ninth to be precise. Now I am a doctor. With Guruji's grace I Completed my MBBS & internship last year and gave my pre-PG entrance exam in jan 2012. This time the All India PG Entrance exam was very tough. All questions were new, appearing for the first time, none from past years.
All of us giving the exam were having a hard time at my centre in Delhi, because it was very cold there. Guruji showed His miracle and there was warm sunshine all through just when I began writing my exam. I felt that He was encouraging me all the time, to sit through the exam and keep attempting the questions. There was negative marking and the questions were so tough, I felt like running away! But He made me sit through the paper and solve it sensibly and to the best of my capability.

When I finally finished my exam and came out, my mother was waiting. I felt sad that I would disappoint her, as my paper hadn't gone so well. I was almost about to cry. Then I opened facebook via my cell phone, and there it was, a message from Guruji. I Thought it was meant for me only and He made me smile. The message said- " Our tears should only flow in gratitude, & not for petty things, or minor setbacks in life."

All through MBBS, I have felt Guruji's presence with me. I have even taught Him medicine, while remembering something and seen Him smile, that lovely, mischievous smile.Whatever knowledge I've needed at any particular phase in my life, Guruji has made it available to me, via his wonderful books, knowledge sheets, Rishimukh, AOL teachers & my family.

I am indebted to Him eternally for the bliss & peace that he has brought to my life. I never acquired any vices all through MBBS or during my schooling because I had such amazing Sudershan Kriya & beautiful meditation techniques with me.

He has been there always during my exams. At time when I haven't been able to sleep, I can feel of Him embracing me and singing lullabies.I have met Guruji a few times during advance courses briefly, but I always feel His presence with me, watching over me, guiding me and smiling mischievously.

I don't know how I would fare in AIPG, results would be declared on 15th feb. But I know, whatever Guruji decides for me, would be the best.

I LOVE HIM A LOT! and am eternally grateful for all the GURU KRIPA shining in my life!
