I was super excited as it was my birthday and Guruji will be in Mumbai to address the vote for better India convention. With Anuraag bhaiyas efforts I was part of security seva at the hotel where Guruji will be staying. I along with other volunteers was assigned for security at the 9th floor lobby. Guruji has not yet arrived and we were told that Guruji will come to the lobby and from there he will go to his room. But at the end moment plans were changed and Guruji took lift from the ground floor and went to his room. I was a little disappointed but was hopeful as i had the entire day ahead. In the afternoon I finally got the signal to go and met Guruji. I went into the room and sat on a sofa with others who were waiting for him.

First Visit to Ashram

This is about the first time I visited the Art Of Living Bangalore ashram; I had gone there to do the advance course in the year 2000. I like to go before time for the course every day. Because when I do the course I want to sit at my teacher’s feet. So I needed to get up early to be there to get a place ahead. Every day I ended up waking up and reaching the venue earlier than the previous day. The last day I woke up around 2:20 or so and got ready and reached the VM (Vishalakshi Mantap) around 3:40. I was outside praying hard, and even the ‘gurkha’ (security guard) didn’t let me inside because it was only him. There were two dogs there and back then I was really scared of them; and I was really praying ‘Oh Guruji look after me, there are dogs here’. All the time I kept looking at the dogs and praying and wondering when the ‘gurkha’ would let me in. Later that day, Guruji came in at 11 o’clock for the session and the first thing he said was “kuch log do teen baje uth kar naha dho key yaha aa jate hai” (Some people get up, have a bath and come here at 2AM-3AM early in the morning).

Surviving Every Situation with Guru’s Grace

I live in America, and I have been facing a difficulty in breathing from my left nostril since 2 years now, and since last April, my left nostril was totally blocked. I couldn’t relate to what was happening, but in January 2014, my doctor said that it was not normal to have polyps in one nostril only, and it could be something really dangerous, like a type of benign tumour which in rarest cases, can be malignant too. I just could not believe it, as I have always been a healthy person. I became extremely restless and tensed due to this whole situation, but then I took to my last and final resort – I started doing my short Kriya, which I had not done since a long time, and contacted the Art of Living centre faculty in my area and started doing my long Kriya as well.

Although there are many miracles that have happened in my life however I would like to share the most memorable and an unbelievable Guru story. During my final year of engineering, I was going through depression because I failed to get a company offer in spite of having good academic background. But a regular practice of Sudarshan kriya, hard work and faith in my master gave me confidence that I will be placed and also get selected in a decent organization. After the exams, I was the first person from my college to join the company while the rest waited for more than 6 months almost. Owing to the rotational shifts in the company, my health suffered and my mind moved away from the spiritual path for more than 2 years. During these 2 years I was going through a monotonous life and lost all interest in the spiritual path. Then I noticed that my father was going through a sleeping disorder so we consulted many doctors but all in vain.

Guru’s Miracles are truly beyond Time, Space and Distance!
Nilesh Gupta did the Part-1 course in July; travelled to Perth in August to do the Advance Course with Chris Dale, and did the Sahaj Samadhi Meditation in mid November in Sydney. Enthusiastically, as a devotee’s journey begins, we would meet frequently for Satsangs, discuss knowledge, and share Guru-Stories.
Every week, we would struggle to find a follow-up venue – Calling Schools/Colleges/Temples/Community Centres’. Just then, Nilesh and his wife Charul decided to give a part of their warehouse for the Art of Living follow-up activities. Construction started soon, within a day of this thought manifesting in their minds. Amidst their busy business and house hold chores, both husband and wife devoted their time and efforts for Seva – arranging Intro talks, organizing follow-ups etc. Planning and execution was at its peak for the centre’s interiors, matching sofa, a big picture of Gurudev, a Knowledge Library etc. Filled with enthusiasm, both of them put their mind and heart into the inauguration of the centre with a beautiful Guru-Puja and Satsang by Chris Dale on the last day of their Sahaj Course. After travelling for around 45 km from the Sahaj venue, Nilesh rushed to the warehouse for decorating the centre, but just 30 minutes before the inauguration, Nilesh fell from a height of 7 meters, from a forklift, while putting some lights for the centre.

Feeling the Magic

I did the Yes+ course 5 years back, after a good 3 years of persistent insistence from my best friend. To give you a general idea about the kind of person I used to be; I was cynical and rigid. I expected the worst from people and situations. I always doubted my abilities, and assumed that things will not work out. I approached any task with intense anxiety, thereby clouding my ability to think clearly. My mind was restless and in a state of chaos, and I spent a larger part of my life feeling depressed and suicidal. And then I experienced something truly magical. After I started practising the Sudarshan Kriya, something in me changed. I wouldn't say my life instantly turned around, but a very gradual but steady process started taking place.

River of Grace

Just yesterday, my cousin sister asked me, "What do you get by following the Art of Living? What's the point of following all this when you are still unsatisfied, unhappy?" These questions can be answered only through experience.

On the 15th of April, I was in Rishikesh. My aunt Rekha was with me. We were there to take Gurudev’s Darshan. After taking a bath in the river Ganga, we got ready to go to the "Art of Living Centre", which is situated on the banks of the holy Ganges. It is the most beautiful place in the world as per me, so we decided to do our short Kriya there. Just as we were about to start the Kriya, suddenly I heard Guruji's voice, for nearly 30 seconds. Before I could begin to wonder where Guruji was, I heard a girl’s voice crying for help. She shouted “Help help!” On learning that someone needed to be rescued, aunt Rekha and I sprung up from our places and went towards the girl. On reaching the point, we saw that a girl was floating in the river, and almost sinking.

Knowledge is Love

Just yesterday, my cousin sister asked me, "What do you get by following the Art of Living? What's the point of following all this when you are still unsatisfied, unhappy?" These questions can be answered only through experience.

I was introduced to the Art of Living by my best friend, at a time when I hit the early life crisis of heart break!! This problem might sound absolutely routine to people around, and maybe that’s true, yet it is very difficult and painful for the one who goes through it. I was love struck when I was 20, and now 7 years have passed by since then, yet I haven’t had a closure to this issue. I had become so sick and obsessed with this one person that my entire life revolved around him. It might sound very filmy but it’s true that I stopped living for a while. He was my God! I was depressed when, after being in love with this person for a year, I finally told him that I liked him, and all he said was "Ya, I know" and simply walked out. For over 2 years, I kept pondering on “Why did he just say - He Knows". He could have said no or yes clearly. His behaviour, his answer bothered me so much that I was not able to concentrate on anything in my life. I got so absorbed in it that I even landed up failing one of my law exams. I had become absolutely helpless as all my attempts to have a clear conversation with him failed. It was at this time, around March 2011, that I was introduced to the Art of Living.

Sri Sri Knows it all

I had been to the Bangalore ashram for the first time, this year in January. My aunt had requested me to give her letter to Guruji. The letter was sealed in an envelope. I promised her that I would give the envelope to Guruji, in His hand, to which she said that she would love it if I gave it directly to Him, but since it gets really crowded in the ashram, I might have to put it in the basket. What she said was very true, but I knew how important it was for this letter to reach Him, so I made a strong Sankalpa in my heart for the same.

Since this was the first time I was visiting the ashram, I did not really know how to reach the place, and was travelling with a friend, who too was going to Bangalore for the very first time. Eventually, I landed up meeting 50 more volunteers in the train, who were also headed to the ashram. They had an appointment with Guruji. They asked us to come along to meet Guruji. “This was the best time to hand over my aunt’s letter!” I thought to myself. I was extremely grateful to Gurudev for having made me meet these volunteers, and for getting such an opportunity to connect to Him.
